Fall Musings

Oh the sound of rustling trees as they battle the wind. In their full splendor of color they sway, as if reaching to grasp leaves already floating away. This time of year brings warm feelings, even as temperatures begin to slowly chill. It brings earthy sensory smells of fallen leaves and bonfires, sweet smells and tastes of caramel apples, s'mores and pumpkin spice. These are the things that inspire me in this beautiful season of change. It seems it comes and quickly flees here in the south. But I try to hold on to it as long as I can as the winter often just feels, meh. Fortunately our winters are mild and we do still see a lot of blue sky. For now just the anticipation of Fall color keeps me inspired as if I were waiting for the first flowers of Spring. Walking in the woods, sitting by a fire, sipping on hot cider, making apple butter and just hanging out with family are a few of my favorite activities. Oh, and of course, football. What are some of your favorites? Anyway...I just wanted to share some of what inspires me during this wonderful time of year. God's creation is amazing and it keeps me looking up while also keeping me grounded through hard times. I hope you have the chance to get outside and enjoy the sensory explosion that takes place this time of year.
